So, the black outline represents your transparent sheet of plastic. So, firstly, you got your Checkpoint A and B. To further aid you in your hike, you draw a route to get to it on your plastic sheet. How does this help? Say if you're doing urban hiking, and there's alot of junctions, crosses and stuff. This will be useful in telling you where to turn or go on straight. Edit: So, how do you get your route card done? Simple, place your plastic sheet over the map, trace the proper route to your Checkpoint. Then trace the other spin offs and turns which will lead you off course in another colour. It's all in tracing...
